About Me

Linda first discovered the benefits of yoga while attending San Diego State University where she earned her B.A. in Psychology, noting that the flexibility and body awareness she developed as a ballroom and certified fitness instructor was easily transferred to her asana practice.  After getting bitten by the yoga bug, she began her formal yoga study at Kripalu Center for Yoga & Health where she earned her 200-hour Kripalu Yoga Teacher Certification and has now been teaching yoga for well over a decade in the Easton area. She continued to broaden her education by first earning her 500-hour Advanced Teacher of Therapeutic Yoga Certification in 2015 through Integrative Yoga Therapy (IYT) under Joseph and Lilian LePage, ultimately completing her 1000-hour Professional Yoga Therapist certification/internship through IYT in June of 2016 and attaining her Certified Yoga Therapist credential through the International Association of Yoga Therapy (C-IAYT).

Linda particularly enjoys assisting students with musculoskeletal challenges (injury, surgery, arthritis, fibromyalgia, MS, pelvic floor issues, etc.) and heart disease/diabetes as well as anxiety and depression. She has pursued continued education and attended workshops with teachers such as Sadie Nardini, Richard Miller, Amy Weintraub, Anodea Judith, Julie Wiebe, and most recently completed Level 1 training in Neurokinetic Therapy (NKT) and Trauma-Sensitive Yoga Training with TCTSY.  She is especially thankful for the many wonderful teachers she has had along her journey, including Carol Grube, who convinced her to substitute her first yoga class at Serenity Studio nearly fifteen years ago.

Linda's passion for expanding her knowledge of all things yoga and health-related, with a deep love for studying the human body and alignment as it applies to yoga, makes her classes functional as well as fun and suited for students of any level, and despite any challenges. Linda enjoys weaving the elements of the eight limbs of yoga into her sessions emphasizing clarity of alignment in asana (poses), a steady connection to the breath (pranayama), and a mindful investigation of what qualities we are truly cultivating in our practice through meditation practices, contemplation of Yogic philosophy, and exploration of mudra. She aims to offer students inspiring classes emphasizing healing, transformation, and gratitude, from those taking their first-ever yoga class, to those well along the path, and all students in between. Linda's ambition is to provide her students with an insightful and integrated experience both on and off the mat – by making the connection that allows them to carry their practice into their everyday lives.

"Linda Kress is a gifted certified yoga therapist/ teacher offering group and individual classes for all ages and  levels. Whether you are an experienced yoga practitioner or someone in need of individual attention due to physical challenges, Linda’s classes will not disappoint!

I had been taking yoga classes in California, on and off, since the early 1980’s from a number of well known yoga teachers.  When I moved to PA in 2018, I searched for a gentle yoga class to ease back in, and I was fortunate to find a knowledgeable, therapeutic, gentle but challenging yoga therapist/teacher in Linda Kress, and I have been attending her classes regularly since 2018.  In Jan of 2021 I took a spill and fractured 4 ribs and injured my head. I am happy to report that with Linda’s guidance and individual attention in class, I have healed quicker than expected.

When the pandemic hit, Linda switched her indoor classes to an outdoor venue to keep her students safe.  Imagine doing yoga in nature with the sounds of birds and gentle breezes in the background- just perfect!"

"I have been a student of Linda's since 2016. As someone who has never practiced yoga before, I have acquired not only the ability to perform different poses with breath, but I now have attained the skills necessary to keep my body and mind healthy through everyday life. I appreciate her willingness to help new students while also attending to her more advanced students. Thank you Linda for sharing your knowledge and gifts with us!"

"I love going to yoga! Thank you Linda for supporting my journey to remain healthy, strong, and flexible, and for helping me find and connect to my inner self.

Linda is a truly dedicated certified yoga therapist, and inspirational instructor aiming to help each participant find the correct position for each pose done in class while greatly encouraging each one of us to incorporate the practices into our daily lives. I credit Linda for helping me stay flexible and strong before having my valgus knee replaced in 2019 and then for my making a speedy recovery afterwards.

I’m so thankful to be back practicing yoga outdoors with nature’s critters. During covid lock-down, Linda’s helpful dedication helped me retain flexibility, strength and taught me breath control and calming techniques. Linda, you have such inner beauty, caring for others and confidence in your knowledge of bodily motion that I feel grateful every time I’m in your class."
