Yoga in Nature

Service Description

Appropriate for ALL levels. Bring your mat/towel/blanket, 2 blocks, strap and water bottle (studio materials are available if necessary). Modifications (including chairs!) are available for nearly anyone to comfortably attend. Research suggests that “dis-ease,” (such as depression, stress, insomnia, and/or heart disease and auto-immune disorders), might be symptoms of “nature deficit disorder”. Spending time in nature exposes us to naturally occurring, beneficial chemicals shown to reduce blood pressure, the stress hormone cortisol, and to improve immune function, for results that can last up to a month following a single session. In my Yoga in Nature program, we will weave yoga and nature together in a way that blurs the boundaries between them, practicing in the nurturing embrace of the earth, sensing the air, the sunshine, the sound of birds singing and of water. Standing with your feet rooted to the earth and your head reaching to the sky allows the lines of separation between you and the world around you to drop away, allowing for immediate access to the present moment, until you find yourself at one with the heart of nature.
